"Ultimate Dry Sacks"
3 Pack Combo
$10.96 at Wal Mart

Ok, here are the super cool bags that I bought today. They are made of rip-stop nylon that's been treated to make them waterproof (no more worries about a young'en spilling a soda on your knitting bag in the car!!!!) There is a clip on each side and between them is a rubbery lip and a stiff edge to help keep the rolled edge flat and watersealed. These suckers are airtight and will keep the cakes/skeins from getting all smushed around.
I found them in WalMart in the camping section and paid $10.96 for the set of three.
This pic shows them hanging on the wall in the Sporting Goods section of Walmart. They are right at the top middle of the display.
There's a Chibi needle case on the pink one so you can get an idea of the size.
I have frogged (twice) an afghan that I'm making and seeing as though I just got my super cool Ball Winder from Knit Picks I had to wind all that frogged yarn. So I have these super huge cakes because it is a double strand pattern. I put the cake of yarn in the blue on and rolled the edges outward so that I would be able to feed the yarn thru the opening. The way the bag is made it kinda wants to keep it's self closed so that helps keep the yarn from spilling about.
Then I stuck the smaller bag with the cake in it into the middle sized bag and that keeps my knitting separate from the yarn so I have less tangles.
When it's unrolled I can pull the knitting out and clip it to my belt loop (a la Go Knit Pouches)
and the yarn feeds nicely out of the smaller blue bag.
Here is the larges bag with two huge cakes of yarn. My cat is very sick and I have spent the last 3 days at the vet office for several hours each day. I packed these up in the green bag so that I would have a 'stash' to leave in the car in case I used up what was in my purse.

what a great bag, and thanks for telling where to buy it, especially what department - I Never would have looked in the camping section! Enjoyed your blog.
I forgot to ask, what are Ciba needles? Never heard of that brand! Thanks! jensen3@mchsi.com
Those are awesome! Thanks. Now you know my WM won't have them....{pouting}
GREAT find!! I'm a purse/bag junkie, too...so you know I'll be out getting these!
Wow! My first comments! LOL
Sorry, I misspelled the name of the needles it's "Chibi" by Clover. I like them better because they are not as 'slippy' as regular metal darned needles.
